I did not build SketchRoot because dental students lack information. I built it because they are drowning in it, and almost none of it is designed for the way human memory actually works.

Every dental graduate knows the feeling. Nine subjects in the preclinical years and nine more in the clinical years. Four thick textbooks per subject. Three sets of coaching notes. A folder of PDFs that nobody has opened twice. A syllabus that keeps growing while the exam date stays exactly where it is. You read pharmacology in March and cannot retrieve a word of it in September. You revise oral pathology for the fourth time and it still feels new. The problem was never effort. The problem is that linear text is the worst possible container for high volume, high recall material, and dentistry is nothing but high volume, high recall material.

SketchRoot fixes the container, not the student. Every high yield topic becomes one illustrated scene. A single image carries the classification, the mechanism, the clinical features, the investigations, the management protocol and the exam favourite exceptions, all locked together by place, colour and absurdity. Those are the three things the brain refuses to forget. This is the memory palace method, the same technique memory athletes use to recall thousands of items, applied systematically across an entire dental curriculum for the first time. You stop re reading. You start retrieving.

Why one platform instead of five

A serious aspirant today pays for a NEET MDS coaching subscription, a separate INBDE question bank, a third party INI CET test series, a set of handwritten notes bought off a senior, and a flashcard app that gets abandoned in week three. Five products. Five interfaces. Five versions of the same syllabus. No single source of truth. SketchRoot is built to be the one platform that carries a dental graduate from first year to rank one. The same visual core extends into question banks, timed mock tests, spaced repetition revision cycles and analytics that tell you exactly which sketch has started to fade, before the exam finds out for you.

The scope is deliberately complete. Anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, pharmacology, microbiology, pathology, general medicine and general surgery. Dental materials, dental anatomy, occlusion and preclinical prosthodontics. Oral medicine, oral pathology and oral radiology. Conservative dentistry and endodontics. Prosthodontics and implantology. Periodontology. Orthodontics and dentofacial orthopaedics. Pedodontics, preventive and community dentistry. Oral and maxillofacial surgery, covering trauma, orthognathic surgery, oncology, reconstruction, temporomandibular joint disorders and dentoalveolar surgery. Then biostatistics, research methodology and evidence based dentistry, the sections most aspirants concede without a fight.

Different examinations, different countries, different question styles, and the same concepts underneath all of them. Learn those concepts once, properly, in pictures, and every one of these examinations turns into a format problem rather than a knowledge problem.

Who is drawing these

This is not outsourced content. Every sketch is conceived, drawn and audited by clinicians who have topped these examinations themselves and then gone on to practise the subject they are teaching. Rank holders, postgraduates and specialists writing for the departments they actually work in. A topper does not merely know the answer. A topper knows which detail the examiner will chase, which two conditions everybody confuses in the third hour of a paper, and which single line in a forty page chapter has ever actually been asked. That editorial judgement is the product. The illustration is simply how we deliver it.

My own record sits above this note for one reason. Not as a trophy shelf, but as a standard of proof, so you know precisely whose judgement you are trusting with your preparation.

Thrive for the best. Not the safe score. Not the seat you settle for. Dentistry rewards the graduate who can recall cleanly under pressure, in the examination hall first and in the operatory later, and that skill is trainable. SketchRoot exists to train it, consistently and visually, for every dental graduate who refuses to keep re reading the same page.

We are drawing the first release now. If you want to be there when it opens, put your name on the list below.

The method behind the sketches

SketchRoot builds on the memory palace, also called the method of loci, an ancient technique that stores facts as vivid images along a familiar route. Learn how it works, what the research shows and how to build your first palace.

Frequently asked questions

What is SketchRoot?

SketchRoot is a visual learning platform for dental graduates. It turns each high yield topic into one illustrated scene so concepts are easier to recall for NEET MDS, INI CET, INBDE, AIIMS and university examinations. The platform is being built and early access is open.

What is the memory palace method and does SketchRoot use it?

A memory palace, also called the method of loci, stores facts as vivid images along a familiar route so that recall becomes a walk through that route. SketchRoot builds on this idea by turning each high yield topic into one illustrated scene. The memory palace guide explains the method step by step.

Which examinations is SketchRoot being built for?

SketchRoot is being built for NEET MDS, INI CET (MDS), INBDE and the AIIMS route, and for university examinations.

Who created SketchRoot?

SketchRoot was created by Dr. Jishnu Mohan, an oral and maxillofacial surgeon and head and neck surgical oncologist who secured All India Rank 1 in the AIIMS New Delhi PhD entrance examination in 2025, All India Rank 37 in NEET MDS 2022 and All India Rank 91 in INI CET 2022.

Is SketchRoot available now?

Not yet. The first sketches are being drawn. Join early access and you will be told the moment they go live.

Does SketchRoot sell previous year question papers?

No. NBEMS does not publish official NEET MDS papers, and SketchRoot does not republish recalled papers. It builds visual revision material for the concepts that keep returning.

Is SketchRoot affiliated with NBEMS, AIIMS or the ADA?

No. SketchRoot is an independent education platform. Official examination information always comes from NBEMS, AIIMS and JCNDE.
