What the Red Book is
According to the publisher's listing, the Red Book brings together questions from previous NEET MDS and INI CET MDS papers in MCQ format, with an explanation for each question and timed practice tests. It is widely discussed among dental PG aspirants as a way to see what the examinations repeat.
Because NBEMS and AIIMS do not release official question papers (see our guide to previous year questions), any compilation depends on recall and on the publisher's editorial checks. Ask which edition you have and how recently it was revised.
Who should use it
Aspirants who have finished a first pass of a subject and want to test their recall against examination style questions. It is not a substitute for textbooks and it is not a book to read from the first page.
How to get the most from any previous year MCQ book
- Attempt, do not read. Cover the answer, commit to a choice, then check.
- Log every miss with a cause: knowledge gap, recall failure, confusion, misread question or guess.
- Group repeated concepts by topic and list them in one place.
- Give each repeated topic one visual that holds its classification, features and exceptions.
- Retest after 3, 10 and 30 days.
- Verify doubtful explanations in a standard textbook. Every compilation has some errors.
How a question bank and visual revision fit together
A question bank tells you what is asked. Visual revision helps you keep it. The strongest workflow is to use a bank to find your repeated errors and to use visual scenes to fix them.
